On 29/12/2019, a seminar about the robotic surgery held at the CME room of Kirkuk medical college by Assist. Prof. Dr. Dler Omar Muhammad (Gastroenterologist and the instructor of surgery branch). The seminar covered some points such as:  the history of robotic surgery, how it was introduced to Medicine and used in surgery and finally the advantages of these kind of surgery. The most important advantage of this type of surgery is that it uses a three dimensions camera, which enables the surgeon to see more details in the rare and critical surgery operations. It can be performed across the continents by simply connecting the robotic device to the internet.  

Historically, the first surgery operation done on human by this method was in 2001.

The main objectives of the seminar briefly were to inform the teaching staffs about the latest updates regarding the robotic surgery in the world and the necessity of having these types of surgery in all the Iraqi hospitals.
