It is one of the scientific branches of the college, which includes most of the specializations; such as general surgery, Urology, Orthopedic surgery and diagnostic radiography.  

Teaching Staff

Main goals of the branch:

1- Increasing the ability of students to take patient’s history and conducting complete clinical examinations for surgical cases.

2- The ability to deal with emergency cases concerning diagnosis and treatment.

3- The capability of doing basic surgical skills such as; wounds suture, catheterization of urethra, fracture fixation, and insertion of tracheal tube.

4- The ability to diagnose the common surgical cases.

5- Attendance at the operation halls to visualize how the surgery operations done and how to deal with the surgical and anesthesia equipment.

6- Making the students familiar with the surgery skills conducted at the consultancy clinics of breast diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, Radiology, and emergency section.   

It is one of the scientific branches of Medicine College, in which Pediatric studied at (fourth, fifth, and sixth stages).

Main goals of the branch:

After years of study of Pediatrics, students should be able to:

1- Take history of the patients, conducting clinical examinations of them and putting in consideration the age group of children (Premature, newborn, infant, pre-school, school age, and puberty).

2- Measure the different growth standards, compare them with normal standards, and give simple reasons about the differences among these standards.

3- Make scientific researches about cases in their fields.

4- Gain great information about newborns, and how to deal with this age group.

5- Plan on how to treat different children infections, and having necessary laboratory tests to diagnose these infections.

It is one of the clinical branches, which cares about the health of individuals and community.

1- To evaluate the health of community and the concept of health it is important to know:-

a- The health indicators.

b- The main characteristic features of the pathogen and host. The environmental factors contributed to the infection.

c- The indicators uses in measurement of health level.

2- The environment and Health:

a- The sources and causative agents of environmental pollution and control them.

b- Understanding the concept of water safety.
